MARCUS SHIELD 3PLY Pleat -Style Medical Face Mask is using DI Water Electret Melt-blown at the middle layer. Below is the difference between regular meltblown and “DI Water Electret Melt-blown” know-how and characteristics:
The traditional melt-blown material uses corona electret, it applies to the surface of the material. It cannot reach its maximum filtration efficiency and the efficiency will decrease over a short period of time as the static electricity would subside over time.
The DI water electret melt-blown is produced pumping DI water to the material through high pressure. The nozzle will spray the DI water on the melt-blown material. The friction will generate static electricity. This type of DI water electret melt-blown is saturated with static electricity as compared to only applied to the surface of the material (traditional type). This is the key to guarantee the static electricity in the material and hence guarantee the shelf life of the very high filtration efficiency (given the storage condition is suitable).
